The rules around handball in general are ridiculous. If it isn’t intentional, it isn’t given - The majority of fouls in the game aren’t intentional but they’re fouls nonetheless; if your hand/arm stops the ball from going where it would otherwise go, it should be handball. Forget how far away you are, what the intention was, etc.
I actually disagree with that slightly because I do think players are skilled enough to flick the ball off people's arms from close range if any touch of the arm is given. I think going black and white if it hits your arm it is handball would be bad.

I have an awful feeling that we are going to hand the RS the title on Saturday. Doesn't bear thinking about.

Think you look pretty stretched right now with the injuries, plus your record in big games away from home is pretty poor. I'd make City strong favourites. More worried about their trip to Old Trafford with it being a Derby.

You'll never be forgiven if you do mate!

In all seriousness I can't see it. Spurs will have to rest players for that one and your squad looks thread bear. Massive chance for your lot of the CL, Ajax are good but Spurs start favourites. Has to prioritise that.

i'm sorry but that's ridiculous. It's never going to get everything right, same as the referee won't. Scrap VAR? So what then, we have the Ref making split-second decisions without being 100% conclusive themselves. Football is opinionated, the tech is brought in to help get the right decisions more often than if it wasn't there. If the offside rule went back to what it used to be, before all this interfering with play nonsense, they could get all offsides right with VAR.
If it cant get the decisions right I'd scrap it yes. The rules are too open to Interpretation and for me I'd leave it in the hands of the officials yes.
Its worked for 150 years . Of course they make mistakes but it adds to the drama of it for me.
That's my views on it.
I dont really care if you agree or not.

Just looked at the city highlights. Jesus. Has there ever been a situation where it felt so certain for so long to be taking away. How sick.

Exactly

VAR was NEVER going to provide a 100% success rate, but it will make the current rate HIGHER, so it's better by proxy

Some people are just inherently techno-phobic I feel and VAR just pushes their buttons for that reason

Not for me. I just think it should be more streamlined and better implemented, handing the ref the power to use it rather than the other way round.

Ice hockey or field hockey? Field hockey yes any foot touch stops it. Ice it isn't like that at all. A guy scored with his face in a playoff game a few days ago in the NHL.

yeah field hockey, i think i remembered playing it in PE when i was about 7 and being told it's not allowed to hit a foot. As said, it would stop a whole lot of the controversy in football if it was just a clear law. I don't know why, but the sport has a weird fascination with having load of laws that are open to interpretation. In any sport you'll get officials that will view a foul differently, but they still have a lot of good laws and rules in place which are clear. Football's just run so stupidly and so behind the times.
