Well, I got berated a few days ago for suggesting defending teams put players on the post when defending corners. Told it wasn't modern thinking and it didn't matter in the modern game. Well, Poch, a player on the post today and you wouldn't have conceded the second and winning goal. And you'll see it week after week...

I don't like pointing to rugby all the time but I find it to be a sport that is officiated the right way. The refs don't have to deal with a ton of players crowding them. The clock stops so stupid things like walking off on subs and other annoying time wasting can't happen. Red cards are only given out for things that are truly dangerous and violent. The tmo and ref communications can be heard so there is no question what happened in a decision. All of these things should be put into football in my opinion.

Massively agree, I always go back to it as well. It's levels ahead of football imo and yet it is a much poorer sport, not played by many, but played in many countries.

Football is just full of dinosaurs who have no idea how to implement anything which benefits the game. How long has technology been in rugby? How long has it been in cricket? How long has it been in tennis? Why is football so far behind? We're only seeing it now in specs and it's not being used properly anyway.

When you look at all the money in football it should be the leading sport for things like technology, no excuses. But it they like to keep everything secret. Fans don't know why certain things happen life ref decisions and you end with months of speculation as a result. Why can't we learn why refs make a certain decision? It doesn't make sense.
