What's the strength of football in N.Ireland ?
Is there any impetus to improve league football, or are people resigned to the status quo ?It's fairly low to be honest but can be exciting with lots of goals. Only one team is completely full time, a couple of others have a couple of pros only. The rest are completely part time.
I'd say it's even worse than league 2 level. Probably conference standard, with the bottom teams even worse.

Read this yesterday, and it looks like Ireland is in a similar place.

Lol lolpoor wales
Cheers. The standard has probably improved quite a lot over the last few years. Well the top 5 or 6 teams have anyway. The money for qualifying for Europe is massive for the teams, and then they all really rely on producing players who can be sold to full time football on the mainland.
There's been a good few players sold to championship/spl level over last few years. And you've got a couple of managers in the SPL who came from irish league football so I think that shows the quality of the league has improved. Michael O Neills role in that has been important too I think. He's shown an interest in young players coming through and encouraged the clubs to blood these kids when they are still teenagers because it's their shop window to professional football and making themselves a good living. And we need as big a pool as possible for the NI team.
Best transfers according to the CIES (economic check-up)
(buying team "under"paid) E.g: Lafon, Cristante.
(buying team "over"paid) E.g: Kepa, Mina.
Allison apparently being worth €80m is absolutely ridiculousHahaha, I think we can tell from that table what team the person who plucked these figures from thin air supports.
