Leicester in their pomp lol, ease up a bit.

But seriously it wasn't a problem at all that Spain had 23 shots to England's 5? I saw highlights of only the goals and there was no mix of long and short passing just route one from the keeper. Which is fine if that's what is on but also not a sustainable strategy. Again I was not able to watch so I really don't know but what I have seen makes the scoreline look a bit flattering or at the very least not necessarily repeatable.

Disagree almost entirely, the first goal was well worked as were all in fact. Then I must have been watching a different game altogether lol

Barkley and Sterling had good situations, the latter his legs taken right on the edge when it could have been 0-4.

For someone who didn't watch your views seem to me fairly jaundiced to me.

Tbh I'm too rushed to go into detail

Never really convinced that 3412 got the most out of England's players. Lingaard, Alli and Sterling stood on each other's toes a bit.

433 gets Rashford and Sterling involved and Kane looked great dropping deep and letting those two run past him.

Good to have the flexibility.

It's not that the goals weren't well worked at the end it's that the ball didn't touch a single defender or midfielder in getting to the forwards. Down the years this type of game as shown to be inconsistently effective.

England are where they should be tbh. Southgate actually has them performing in a style they’re comfortable with. It’s the first England team for ages actually performing to the level of their talent. The problem is that that level is still probably short of the best because we genuinely don’t have a crop of world class players in the way that France do. That’s not Southgate’s problem though. It’s far better watching him actually getting decent players playing well than the procession of idiots that preceded him they had genuine world class players and had them playing like a pub team.
Good post mate. Would also like to add, he has a group of players who, as I see it, who want to play for each other as a team/squad. Very similar to Wales in the Euros, whos team spirit carried them to the semi final.
