This is copied from an article written in 2012 and some of these journalists have switched papers since and new journalists who started later than 2012 not on, but it's interesting...... (the papers are in the order they had them but most are on)

Journalists are like the rest of us, and they all support a club.
I found this great article on a spurs only website where posters gradually contributed their knowledge of who journalists support, and they ended up with a comprehensive list.

does anyone dispute any of these? can anyone add any more..? and can anyone confirm the ones with question marks...

I obviously don't agree and think major trophies are what they're primarily after, less fixture congestion will be an advantage.

LvG and Conté were both sacked either straight after or not long after winning this cup, for top four clubs it's a bonus if they win it but doesn't really mean much in the final reckoning.
Maybe not for United or Chelsea, but it would be a huge deal for us.

Yes that's possibly the case but the trolls could win either way really, its not a major trophy and 'the only won the (whatever) cup' would still be aimed at them.

The League or Champions League is another level or six up in status.

Look at the teams that have won the cups in the last 5yrs Arsenal,Chelsea, City,Man United.

I may be biased but I will always enjoy a day out at Wembley especially when it ends in a trophy win.
Only players at ManCity and Chelsea can can say the FA cup isn't a major trophy.
For the rest , if they've won sweet FA they can't really look down their nose at it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Twitter but Herr Klopp is getting slaughtered from all directions tonight.
Some of the tweets are indeed the ravings of lunatics.
'Klopp must go' and 'we HAVE to win trophies' seem to be the most popular rants at the moment.
Comedy gold my friends.

They'll be rimming Klopp again come Saturday.

Yes although you could point to Wigan, Portsmouth, Birmingham City and Swansea as having won a domestic trophy in relatively recent times and you wouldn't really want to swap with them.

Its all relative and I'm not denigrating the cup by saying it's hasn't the kudos or credibility it once had. It's just a matter of degree and what a clubs main aims are.

For us it is everything and must be the highest priority, it would be absolutely brilliant to go to Wembley and win it, it's our only trophy target left and most seasons together with the league cup, our most realistic targets.

For us it would be magic but not every club is the same.

They all know who pays the wages though. Those articles aren’t going to click themselves. Toe the party line or you’re gone. Seeing an ex blue like Lineker fawning all over them even after a loss for
the good of his own media career is sickening.

Just give them a injury to one of their big players, please. They don't have depth to cover for Salah or van Dijk or Allisson.
