No it wasnt.

There wasnt a load of foreigners in the league in that era.

The majority of players in the league were the best in the UK, now the league has the best in the entire world.

Taking nothing away from Harvey and Labone, but it really was a vastly different era.

That was a master class.

Newcastle are decades away from where city are.

But by then they'll be dumped and in a horrendous position when the Saudi teams get put in Europe.

I really do worry for them as they're a real working class city that's been lured in.

No referee protection the ball was heavier etc - I have watched football since 1962 the pitches were mudbaths todays primadonnas would have never survived imo

I have watched football since 1982 and the game has changed so much in that time.

Which is why people use eras.

Its not the same game at all.
