That ridiculous decision to give that pen for Chelsea was the perfect example of what I mentioned the other day. Upon reviewing that pitchside, how does Pawson not think, nah I was right, that’s not a pen. It’s becoming tiresome, why are refs even bothering going to the monitor if they’re always going to agree with Stockley Park?

That's exactly what Dyche said after the United game. VAR in general is killing the game IMO.

Same ref who didn't give Wolves the pen at Man Utd. He was then demoted for a week. He hasn't improved and should be demoted for the rest of the season. He can't handle Prem games. Far too many mistakes.

Advantage is a discretionary decision so it’s not against the laws of the game to do what the ref did. It’s just very poor judgement.

That is a spectacularly ridiculous response. if that was a red team it would be playing on a loop on sly sports and all their pet refs would be saying it is a travesty.

I think there’s a link here but it’s not directly Sky’s doing. These high-profile Super Sunday matches carry a lot of attention and hype. This adds to the pressure on the refs and VAR, which is bound to cloud judgement and cause unusual mistakes. They’re not coping with the spotlight on them - second guessing themselves and ballsing up.
