They'll never bring in retroactive bans for diving

They should

I don't know why they don't

Been saying that for years.

A video evidence panel with get rid of just about all the diving there is.

It really is that simple and it makes you wonder why the FA or the League won't take that seriously.

It should, but they won't, because the FA will want to protect the authority of referees, I reckon.

But you would be protecting the referee's authority by stamping out the cheating and the conning of the referee. What you're saying is if you try to cheat our referee, either he or the video evidence will catch you so stop doing it.

They're not rubbish though; they're just bereft of confidence and forgotten how to win. Every single player on that pitch bar Januzaj helped win the Premier League by 11 points less than 12 months ago.

They've been Moyesed.

Wrong though. They are about as rubbish as you can get for a Manchester United squad.

Every other club improved quite a bit, some massively while ManU and that "team that won it last year" really haven't improved. Add to that that most of those players are a year older.

I'd also submit that City and Chelsea woefully underperformed last year with what they had and that 12 point gap was in short, a miracle.

I'll give you that Ferguson was good for a few extra wins last year vs. Moyes this year but if you think Ferguson would have this team in the top four, you're having a laugh.

They're barely mid table material right now and all healthy, only have four players that would get into Everton's starting eleven in RVP, Rooney, Januzaj, and DeGea.

The rest just aren't good enough and are showing that Manchester United last season was a one or two man team that outperformed last season beyond any measure used. Are you seriously suggesting that this squad under any other manager would be top four? That if Ferguson stayed there, they'd walk the title again with that pile of garbage? Just about every pundit, football expert, neutral fan, etc... freely admits that Manchester United needs at least three or four new faces. AT LEAST.

You give them way too much credit and sound like a lot of their fans who say it's all Moyes' fault when all the facts point to that it's much more than just David Moyes.

Laughing here.

.....Accrington Stanley fined £20k for appointing James Beattie as manager without having proper qualifications. I would've thought that was a lot of money for a club like that.

Accurately reflected the superiority in that tie, yes pretty much. Accurately reflected the gap in quality between the two sides in general, no. Theres a difference.

Chelsea give Barca trouble because they assemble a multi-million pound bus in front of the goal, its not so much to do with power as it is to do with putting almost all your team in the final third. Its a fair tactic, but not really based on power in the way that Bayern tie was.

I love Alexis, he works his ass off for the team, and is having an excellent season. Unfortunately he has had a couple bad games in a row now. They don't get behind him at the stadium. My buddies are always moaning about him, but he contributes a hell of a lot.

I re-watched the Chelsea v Barca game in 2009 the other night. Yes they parked the bus at the Nou Camp but in the second leg they certainly didn't park the bus at all.

Same if I recall correctly in 2005.

2012 however they parked the bus.

Also, if Bayern were to play Barca this season it'll certainly be closer than 7-0. Perhaps 4-1 or 4-2.

Thanks for reminding me of that game, what a finish!

Chelsea did park the bus however they used their outball to Drogba really really well and tried to support him as much as possible by getting one or two up pretty quickly. They were all back in position in the final third a lot of the time once possession turned though. I've watched that game a few times. Chelsea have always paid a huge compliment to Barca when they play them by using those tactics, its basically saying yes we have spent a tonne of money on our whole squad and have some top class players but you guys are light years ahead of us.

So you agree with what I said, 7-0 doesn't reflect the general gap between the two teams? A 4-2 win to Bayern wouldn't surprise me over two legs this season however I'd love to see that as the final.

The big thing is lets see where all the teams are at when the next round comes along, as its one things making predictions after the draw but injuries and slight drops in form at the wrong time can kill you even if you're the favourite.

It wouldn't surprise me if they opened up another can of whoop ass, but I don't expect it. 4-2 is me being conservative.
