Today's football.

What he brings, UTD don't need

A culture of work ethic - a given at Old Trafford
Win by attrition - Simply doesn't work at the business end of the league
Ability to spot undervalued players and elevating them to a higher standard - UTD are not in that market

I'm sure Fergie saw something of himself in Moyes, they're both temperamental Scotch misery guts but the difference is that Fergie loves football, takes joy in it and trusts his better players to play. Moyes sees football as an obstacle in the way of his success and his players as potential saboteurs.

I've just said he's a world class director of football, which is exactly what he is - worked on a shoestring budget to bring very good players to the club. He never managed them effectively though in my view.

He's never proven his managerial ability, he's just proven consistently that he's a genius in the transfer market. A manager in any occupation requires a different skillset to a purchaser.

He was a manager for 11 years in the toughest league in the world, and he was relatively successful.

To say he'd be a better director of football is sheer speculation, he was employed as a manager by us and fulfilled that role well for more than a decade. He was in charge of the tactics, the squad management, and the transfers of the club during that period, and we climbed the table consistently under his leadership. Clearly not a terrible manager.

Agree with this in a way. Rafael and Jose fit this profile too I think.

Why? We don't want Europa, it'll ruin us as it does every team. It's designed to prevent the "big clubs" in each league being dislodged from their thrones. Champions League or nothing...

Quality ....we have a chance of 4th ..ok too many draws which we would perhaps swap for 2 wins but we have to go for it ..would be an amazing feat if we did it

Very, very poor United team that. Without Ronney and/or RVP, they really are rank average.

How many United players would get in our first choice 11 (excluding the two aforementioned?) Let alone Citeh's or Chelski's?

The only one i'd take is Phil Jones, he reminds me of Jagielka, cut from the same cloth.

That Januzaj just believes his own hype, doesn't help, that every pass he does the media cream themselves, 'WOW WHAT A PASS FROM THE YOUNG LAD'.

Obviously Adnan J and Carrick (even though our equivalent in Jimmy Mc means he wouldn't be an urgent replacement), Jones is reasonably good but we're not short at the back, RVP and Rooney if they were fit obviously but they aren't right now.. so one basically - but they are miles behind the best 3 teams in the league right now in ability and management and everything - not many of their players would be on the radar (RVP and Rooney both too old and doubtful fitness).

Good result. Need to City to win this trophy and not take a Europa spot.

Respect JD but I am wary of a Europa Spot - it detracts from other goals..however I would be made up if we did that in RM's first season with us - Cl 4th or Europa 5th is what we should aim at - Fingers crossed for our great club ..
