Sunderland are a class club.

Been run by morons for years spending money like Villa.

But class fans none the less. Bar the odd melt. Bring more fans than Newcastle too.

Tell you what they will easily outshout the Citeh bandwagon at Wembley. Proper club. I remember a few years ago reading of a decibel level test at Prem grounds. Anfield and OT like morgues of course and Sunderland among the noisiest.

According to the Echo Anfield was the loudest, OT was 2nd, we were 4th. Sunderland were 10th.


This reader comment probably nails how that happened:

Be honest... the highest decibel reading may have been at Anfield. But the 3 games this was averaged from was probably Everton, Man U and Chelsea.

Because... the truth is... the atmosphere at Anfield is extremely poor.

The united set up in that second half and extra time was typical david moyes. He wanted them to protect the lead.

Just another glaring example of how far we have come in 6 months - we would have gone out there and beaten a team by 3 or 4 by contant attack. (Yes i know Sunderland beat us before anyone reminds me)

Was gutted at fulham cos i genuinely believed we had a chance of winning it this season with roberto, city in the final would be hard but i'd have fancied us above most other sides in the league tbh.

think it only goes to the winner, if City win it it then does go onto the league, rather than being given to Sunderland.

I think you're right, mate...just wiki'd it:

The winners qualify for the UEFA Europa League, unless they have qualified for the Champions League through their league position, in which case the Europa League berth goes to the highest-placed team from the Premier League not already qualified for Europe.
