Today's football.

I dont know mate, it pains me to say it but Madrid would see his international and club form and in a very tough league like ours and defo want that as an option for them. As for the racism: I doubt they're going to be too arsed about the racism of the Evra affair.

Regardless of Suarez though I think they'll be very stretched next season if they get CL footy. They aren't owned by an oligarch throwing billions at it. Thery're owned by a sports business group looking to speculate a bit in order to sell up later. They'll have to wait for their shik or oligarch to really stand a chance of getting back near the top.

meh, bendtner has a great international scoring record.

south americans have never been renowned for their defending ha. Mind you, i don't think half the la liga is too renowned in that department. Teams in the CL are though.

The point is that our 'challenge' for top four was nothing more than a load of hot air, again.

If challenging for the top four constitutes being at pace with the real challengers until February and then dropping away dramatically with four months of the season remaining, then fair enough. But I don't consider that to be a challenge at all. I'd call it failing to challenge for the top four.

Well you need to take English classes mate because it was a challenge

It didn't last the whole season I grant you, but it certainly was a challenge

Except with being even luckier than Liverpool this year there is nothing I've seen from spurs that would make me believe that they are catching them. Barring a huge collapse Livepool is top 4.

they're in good form like and are winning a hell of a lot of away games, but yeah, they came up against us and looked lost, just like they did when they played city.

they'll have to win at anfield, which is by no means impossible for them.

Who turn down Real Madrid to stay at Liverpool? Only a fool.

Liverpool are doing OK but Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world. When they came in for Gravesend despite us challenging for fourth too at that point I wished him well.
with all the money in the world, they wont be able to get someone in of suarez's ability again, whether they can recruit well enough with the funds to make sure they are stronger overall without him is very doubtful

he's never proved himself to be at that level though. that's all i'm saying, why would one of the biggest teams in the world take that risk?

bale had one sniff of the CL ripped one of the best RB's in the world apart and scored a hat-trick at the san siro all at a very young age.

he's done other things as well and multiple last minute winners of high class last season and he's scoring at 1 in 2 at the biggest club in the world with the biggest price tag ever on his back.

that's the kind of class you pay £85m for. what has suarez done of similar note? it would be a risk, that's what i'm getting at, just can't see that calibre of team going for him.

the prem is a great league to watch because of it's competiveness, but you wouldn't say the quality is as great as it use to be. not too many players in the prem would be in the world top 50. none would get in a world team of the year either.
Fair do's mate we are not going to agree about the quality of the player or the likelihood of someone like Madrid buying him. I think what we can agree on is he is a massive asset to Liverpool whether he stays or goes.

Did I say anything about the rest of their goals/games? I said they got lucky with the bounce for their last goal today, and that we despite putting Chelsea under more pressure away from home did not get that sort of bounce when we required it. Not bitter at all, just my opinion. I don't like their style of football, int he same way i didn't like Rafas or Mourinhos. The league position of Chelsea and Liverpool show it to be effective though. Doesn't mean I have to like it. Nothing bitter about that either so wind it in.

Well said mate...fellow blues calling you bitter ...I give up

definitely. he probably could crack it in CL, maybe we'll see one day.

correct, if they have CL next season, they'd have to make it count by buying a high calibre of player, because they may not get the chance again any time soon.

A pretty pathetic challenge when it became a futile one half way through the season. I think you might need English lessons if you think that actually constitutes 'challenging' the top four. I'd call it failing to challenge the top four.

We were a couple of points behind 4th with 14 games to go. Since when is 14 half of 38 ?

On the basis that we are chatting about a top 4 challenge, or not, a transfer to RM, or not, and how good/lucky that lot are, or not, I take it the Norwich/Spurs game is not that much.

Well then its not a challenge; a challenge is something that lasts the course of the season otherwise its no different from falling away at October. The fact is this year has been the same as the past god knows how many years, except a bit better football.

We do good till the new year, go to Analfield, get beat and the season crumbles to bits.

i've had it on, but haven't heard the commentators say anything interesting yet.
