We finish above them 2 years in a row. They finish above us and will have a champions league place to show for it.

The year we finish 4th. They only go and win it.

The best period in our history. They only go and get us a European ban.

Why are they so closely linked to our downfalls in pynical parts of our history. Very very eery. Any one but them like. I'm not bitter just a bit spooked out.

Epic post...can't argue with any of it. Would make a good mystery film. At the end they'll be some all-powerful dark mage revealed to be behind this sorcery.

Sad but very true

Once Utd sack Moyes and bring in a quality replacement the top 4 will be just as before

Chelsea/City will dominate for a decade at the top whilst Liverpool/Arsenal/Utd fight for the other two places

Yep. Also add in the likelihood of another oligarch/shiek takeover and this league is over for us.

They'd be goosed if they did two games in three days. Not a chance they wouldn't end up falling between two stools.

Dont rule out either Suarez leaving for Madrid whether Liverpool get CL football or not...in fact if they do qualify this season I'd see him going even more likely as he'd have the card to play that he'd helped them there and can go in good conscience.

i can't see a team as madrid going for him.

he's a very good player, but what would you say is his biggest moment in football? the bad things instantly come to mind like the WC handball, the biting and the racism.

but then after that?

has he done anything remarkable in the champions league like bale did at san siro? nope.

has he won a massive game for liverpool in a high pressure league/FA Cup game against a top side? struggling to think of any tbh. he's scored against the better teams, but they've usually been consolations. he's scored a few important goals vs us in the league, but they've mainly been draws.

his equaliser vs us at wembley is probably one of the biggest achievements of his career.

he possibly scored big goals at ajax in the high standard dutch league?

maybe he did something good for uruguay in a a south american qualifying game against someone like colombia or ecuador?

it would be a risk for sure for a team as good as real to go for him, hence why arsenal where the only ones interested when they'd finished 7th and he was promoting himself as available all around the world.

Man U qualifying for the Cl this year is the best thing that can happen for us.

Means Liverpool will lose Suarez, Spurs will change their entire team again and Man U will keep Moyes.

All 3 of our rivals will be weakened.

Problem is the only way that will happen is if they win the damn Cl this year.

Being in CL one season doesn't mean that much need to do it consistently for it to count, qualifying from group stages gets you around 20 mill, you can't buy a world class player and commit to his wages for 5 years on that.

Suarez isn't going anywhere
Just like he wasn't going anywhere until last summer when he pushed for a move and only stayed at Liverpool because Madrid went for Bale instead.

Money talks. He'll get whatever pay he could ever get at Liverpool and a chance to win trophies with the world's biggest club. A latin American isn't turning that down.

If Madrid want him, they'll take him.

I know what you mean but I'm pretty sure we've felt the same way about other seasons gone by and yet once again we've had another shot.

Have we?

I suppose everyone has a shot at the top four at the beginning of the season. But to say we have challenged for a top 4 place this season is way off the mark. We were out of the 'race' come January.

ha, i don't think anyone needs to reply to that do they. i have to admit i would laugh my socks off if they got beat by olympiakos, but that surely would be pretty much it for moyes.

January 1st we were 5th, one point behind 4th placed Liverpool.

How were we out of the race ?

Mate just stop now it's embarrassing, he is currently the premiership top scorer and joint top with assists. Regardless of what kind of person he is he is a massive asset to Liverpool whether they keep him or sell him for 80 to 100 million and use that money to attract the kind of players a team in the champions league will attract.
