Todd Boehly. A man...who wants an all-star game.

I did actually try to get into American Football once, I am a sports junkie and thought, why not give it a try. I watched one full game, the last 2 minutes lasted about 40 minutes, gave up.

About 2 years later I decided to give it another go, it was Thanksgiving so turned over to Sky Sports to see what was going on. I turned over to Nickelback playing in the middle of the pitch, they were just finishing, so it stayed on but the 2nd half was delayed because they had issues with getting the large stage off the pitch, that is when it went off and stayed off.

I would recommend watching Redzone at first.

It's a great watch , will help understand the game and focus on all the exciting moments of games.

His thoughts on the Super League are an irrelevance.

An All Stars game is utterly anathema to this tribal sport of ours. It’s not at all what English (or even European) football is about.

That he doesn’t recognise that betrays a total lack of understanding of the sport and its fans.
I don't care that he's not willing to rip up the entire core of the game because he might add an exhibition match

I don't even know what point you're making now, but please do enjoy your day.
It's very weird to be not bothered that an influential person in football has said he's against ripping up the bedrock of the system because he's said on top of that he wants to explore one minor change.

The takeaway from that interview should be overwhelmingly positive imo, but the British are absolutely terrified of American owners and are just waiting for anything that allows them to make their point that they're wholly bad.

I've no interest in his thoughts on the super league with respect to his mad all star idea - which is what I'm engaging with.

I don't really understand why you're insisting I should be engaging with that. I have no desire to do so.

He doesn't get English football or English football fans.

And with respect - from reading your posts across this forum - neither do you.

I think this is a good way of putting it. I have a fair amount of respect for where the limits of my understanding of English (and Welsh) football fans begins and ends.

What concerns me is that Boehly doesn't. He seems to think that he can export the baseball model to England and have this work out just fine, and seems unaware of the growing pains FSG experienced when trying to do the same thing.

The result is my suspicion that Chelsea is in for some lean times. How long those last probably depends on whether he turns out to be more John W. Henry or Dan Snyder.

Yeah none of us do, there's literally nothing anyone could say to convince you otherwise because then you have to reckon with the idea that actually you aren't some special breed

He definitely doesn't!

Nah, I actually understand the game. I have a very good aptitude for understanding sports very quickly. Yes, you may not get all the nuances but I still understand enough that it is a sport that I will never get into.
