Perhaps you don't realise just how big the premier league is in Asia ? To be fair when I say 'premier league' (with regards to its popularity in Asia) I really mean United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal but that's prob the same for NBA where Lakers etc are main pull rather than punters having a love for the league as a whole.
