I'd definitely agree there. I just don't want him as our only midfielder brought in this transfer window, we need that "door unlocker" too.

Striker and that assist machine are the prio's the others are just the gravy mate to give us a squad that can compete in everything without being worn down

that left mid spot screams out for the creative type like, got kev for the right side with mcGeady as the back up rotation player with hopefully dele still here for that step overs

I would actually prefer Rodwell to Cleverley or Colback, both are decent players in my opinion tho. My reason being height, we lack height in our team, we struggle defending and attacking corners as it is. If we're gonna be resting Barry next season, who is our only 6 foot CM then we need a taller option like Rodwell who is 6 ft 2". Cleverley and Colback are both 5 ft 9", I'd take either as an extra to Rodwell, prob Colback tho as he will be free. Rodwell has had injury probs but we won't need 38 games out of him, a 20 game season and plenty of rest would prob suit him at this stage to make sure he is properly over the hamstring problems. Rodwell on loan with an option and Colback for free allows us to spend our funds on positions that are more key like a striker and an AM/winger type.

True but we don't need dog dirt such as Cleverley. Barry, McCarthy and Gibson fighting for the two midfield roles, with Osman as an emergency option, is surely enough.

I said the same thing about Barry.

What do I know about Football compared to Martinez?

The positivity of him must be infectous tbh mate, he's like a guy who loses his wallet on a night out and has to walk 6 miles home, and see's it as a good thing as he can exercise off the calories of the beer like ;p

Loses his wallet on a night out gets home and finds he's won the lottery.

He's proven I know [Poor language removed] all about football

The height thing is a problem, think the solution is have 75% possession and never let the opponent close enough to get a corner ;p think that's the way Barca does it ;p

On a serious note though, Hopefully Stones and Lukaku as they develop (assuming Lukaku is here next year) become better in the air as they develop further and can give us that boost we need in both defending and attacking set pieces, we are just a small team and don't really see that changing anytime soon though

Wouldn't object to Rodwell coming back - on loan initially until he can prove he can stay fit though

would be us that gets cleverley, although his whole team have been poor this season and he was good under rm at wigan. But I would love delph, absoloute machine, had barkley in his pocket at villa park

Martinez will probably just go out and get Rodwell Colbeck and Cleverly.

Just to be sure.

Gun to a gun fight. Not a knife. After all.

Cleverly -12 months left and out of the team, Colbeck free and Rodwell on loan. Doesn't look like they will hurt the wage bill enormously in this day and age (City would pay half I would imagine as Rodwells wages are crazy for what he offers).

That is the stumbling block -wages. But I could see all 3 arriving.
