60k a week...

The more crap is spouted about Tom Cleverley on here, the more I wish for him to be a succes at Everton. He's even becoming one of my fave players just because others seem desperate for a scapegoat. I personally see him as the eventual Osman replacement, so at least he already has one thing in common with Leon. If he becomes just a valuable member of our squad, you won't hear me complaining.

When are we going to get Timothy in as our manager? According to some, he got Villa playing like Barca.

I'd agree with that if Barca continually finished the season without a trophy and one point off being relegated.

Arsenal 4 -0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa 0- 1 Burnley

Southampton 6 -1 Aston Villa.

Just like Barca mate.......

Leaving out the games where they played fantastic attacking football and winning again I see, "playing like Barca wasn't meant literally and more fool you for believing so (again not tackling the literal part of the post 'new manager syndrome' as you know it was true)

Like I said get ready to see Mirallas replaced out wide with the only player in history to have a petition to stop the lad playing international football.

Mid table player signed by a mid table manager. Squad player fine but he won't be brought in to be that.

I feel he is a replacement for Osman

Oh, so you mean that Cleverley magically got better because he had a new manager?

It's weird, because I'm of the belief that players can't magically get better, they can just fulfill their potential.

In other words - Tom was either shabite for Villa, or not.

So what are you saying? He can only be a good player for Sherwood? Or he was crap for Villa under Sherwood? All hail Sherwood!

I am not sure what the relevance of people and petitions tp stop him playing is.

It says more about the bampots who would start such a petition than it does about Tom Cleverly.

Because as sure as God made Garston there have been many, many England players who were way worse than The Clev without petitions being started about them.

Welcome to the age of the clueless interweb buffoon posse.

I first noticed it with our badge uproar. Sure, it looked like shabite, but nobody would have raised more than an eyebrow over a pint in the pre-www. days.

I'm actually not sure he'll end up being the scapegoat here. He's mobile and gets around the pitch putting tackles in. Evertonians seem to value that over talent and end product at times.

Lukaku for example, often gets called lazy because he's not sprinting around like Andy Johnson and Marcus Bent running down blind alleys and chasing lost causes. He's not being lazy at all, he is simply using his brain as a striker => 20 goals a season. Meanwhile, Coleman, a quick, all-action kind of player, was horrifically bad last season and got about 2% of the stick Lukaku did.

As long as he puts a shift in, doesn't talk the press about career ambitions and doesn't play like a league 1 standard player, he'll be ok here I reckon. He could even be very popular.

It's important we don't get on his back like. He can be a bit Barkley with his confidence issues, apparently.

Wouldn't have tolerated this season though. You can say what you want about him least he had a bit of passion. Very good full back and ok in defensive mid when we had injuries. Would have geriatric Neville over geriatric Barry every day of the week.
He was a very decent full back, not a very good one.

Barry is miles better at defensive midfield than Neville ever was.

The stick Barry gets on here is unwarranted.

Can't judge him under new manager syndrome Sherwood as their whole team played like Barca. Would be a decent squad player signing but we all know he'll be in the starting 11 on the left leaving us with 1 winger again. Martinez plays his favourites and has been after him for a long time.

Blimey. Now if that were true it would have put a smile on the face of Deadly Doug :)
Anyway, Cleverley, he's coming.

Quite a few people who know more about football than the vast majority of folk on here, rate him. Might as well get behind him and give the lad a chance.

You mean @Big Doug right?
