Friend? I'm a bit drunk, but speaking in all seriousness, McCarthy has obviously been our best signing for quite a while and I'm one of a lot of people who want to see Robles between our sticks more often. Besides, Cleverley hasn't played football for Wigan in 4 years. More than any of that, I believe in giving any player who puts on an Everton shirt an effing chance. I didn't have much faith in Lennon, but I kept my mouth shut and am pleased to say he came up with the goods and I want him to stay. PATIENCE Friend.

Okay, wee typo Friend. Appreciate what you are saying and yes give him a chance. To me we seem overloaded in midfield with this signing especially with our younger players on the fringe of a call up. It could mean they will have to wait and we have a repeat of the Garbutt fiasco.

Allied to that I have this feeling we are becoming a hybrid Wigan team because when it comes down to the line most of his signings have been from his Wigan experience or whom he fancied when he was at Wigan.

I AM COMPLETELY AMBIVALENT TOWARDS THIS SIGNING BUT HOPE HE DOES OKAY AND PROVES THE NAYSAYERS WRONG!

How much better can you do on a free transfer? Young enough, contracted for his best years, not short of playing time, with a very good shout of getting into the England team again if he's in form, and versatile ball winner with ambition on the pitch. Excellent business by Roberto, and that theatrical bloke that some people don't seem to like.

All need to get a grip, guarantee that if the lad hits top form everyone on this forum will be up his arse give him a chance all slating him before he has even kicked a ball for us, if it doesn't work out we sell him next summer for a fee. He's not a bad player actually a good player.

He fancied John Stones when he was at Wigan

He tried to sign him but Moyes beat him to it.

This thread should give him motivation to prove people wrong.

Therefore.... Booooooo!!! Hissssss!!! Booooooooooo!!!!

If he scores a wonder strike against Liverpool.

Can see all the Bawkers piping right down. Not at all worried.

Wasn't signed for £20 million. So its a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. If he performs all the better. If not we'll just get rid at a profit.

Bill is tremendous at working hard to bring in these free transfers Steve. He spoiled Moyes with them.

True, full marks to our Ex, did not hang around. Still does not mean that RM gets the full ;) rating when it comes to signings. We have to wait now to get any idea who else was on his list of 2/3 players that he wanted to bring in.
