Another example of why you shouldn't write off a player before they've kicked a ball for us.

I like his style. Always looking forward, doesn't take many touches, works hard and can pick a clever pass.

He is everything Rodwell should have been.

No, he's just nowhere near as bad as a load of melts made out based off watching Match Of The Day.

Would rather have him on a free than some of the guff we've been linked with ..or other clubs have paid big for..Good squad filler and may turn out to be excellent business as he has a point to prove

Time will tell mate. Always find it weird to see our own fans rush to be the first to write a player off when they sign though.

He could turn out meh for us like, but wait until then. The slagging he got on signing for us was toe curling.

I remember when Jags made his debut...admittedly he had a stinker...but he was getting dog's abuse ...on his debut!

Knowledgeable fans etc

Aye played him in midfield. We need to be able to pick up that type of bargain consistently again, which in fairness to Moyes he was very good at doing.

Humble pie for me on this one as I was not a fan .. Have to say though he now looks a good signing. Comfortable on the ball and well able to pick out a pass ... Good call roberto ..... Now keep up the good work by getting some others in and get real about the deadwood ... Kone is so poor its hard to see how he is still there ... Any normal job he would be sacked for incompetence ... Look at the red S...e and super Mario ... At least he actually scored a few goals for them last year ... Take note roberto - cut your losses and get rid !!

I like the fact that he 90% of the time he takes 2 touches to do anything (one touch to control, one to distribute).

It means we are doing things far quicker and should hopefully open teams up.

Freebie too.

Anyone else noticing this? I now intently watch everytime he gets the ball to see if he sticks to his two-touch rule. Pretty much every time he gets the ball he does it.

I know it's only a small thing, but I do think it's boss.

I did predict that it wouldn't be long until people started raving about Cleverley, it will be in the vaults, I said it before we signed him in March or April. I think he is a decent CM, a pretty bad LM and I doubt that he will be an effective number 10. But seeing that he is our only central midfielder that knows how to pass forward, he must be worth about 25 million now, and he should be starting instead of Barry.

You must be right about everything.

Knows where he is passing it before he gets the ball.
A lot of our players receive the ball then decide where to play it, thus slowing us down.

Our wingers and Lukaku will all benefit from how quickly Cleverley can dispatch the ball.
