To be fair to the good men and women of GOT more than 75% of them were happy enough to see him join us.
The ( mostly ) silent majority just ignore the melts.
Ban them all I say.
Anyhow, the lad looks like canny business at this point in time, has plenty to offer. Very tidy player IMO

I think he's a perfect Osman replacement. Will be quietly applauded when he does boss things, he rarely loses possession and keeps the ball moving well but will be slated massively when he has a bad game because he's English and doesn't have a fancy sounding name.

I think overall he will be a very useful squad player, will always work hard, will get a good number of assists and chip in with a few goals too.

we wouldn't have won the league without him. Glad to say I was wrong about him getting the 10 goals a lot of people forecast and the 10+ assists.

Oh wait the season hasn't started yet? But the self congratulation has? Bawk at its finest, is he up for the ballon d'or yet?

Yes.
Saying that he looks a decent player and not the unbridled tosh that many predicted isn't unreasonable, nor is it a mass circlejerk.

Calm down mate.
Clevelinho is just getting a bit of recognition from his doubters as most thought he was going to be Phil Neville mkII when he signed, but they have come to realise watching him in the pre-season friendlies that he's going to be Leon Osman MkII.
A TOTALLY different prospect.

People are only saying he is "decent" now because he is new and given the benefit of the doubt. This decent will become poor by the end of the year as people realise working hard and passing it 5 yards isnt good enough. He is our left winger for the seadon though so we better get used to it.

No, people are saying he looks decent, because he looks decent. Nothing to do with being 'new' at all.

Don't be silly.

Im not being silly ive watched every pre season game and ive seen nothing different than what i seen of him at villa and united and thats hes not good enough.

Give him his due he never stops and never hides but for me thats the end of his qualities. He isnt an improvement on anything we already had for me and i dont get how people are saying he looks good.

What isn't good enough mate?
Outline for me his failings as a player

Hopefully he'll get Grandad Barry's share of game time in the centre. His progressive passing will be useful there to keep us going forward. Whilst he is tidy on the ball, if he plays on the left he neither has the pace or ability to make as big an impact there, it would be another player wasted out of position. The fact he currently looks our best option for the left reflects more on the squad than Cleverley. Like Osman, his natural ability and responsible attitude will see him shunted all over the park to accommodate more limited players.

He brings Baines into the game a lot more than Osman does, not necessarily up to the same level as Pienaar, but a lot more than any of the others have.

You're such a jarg football expert mate.
