Done well but if Kones to keep his place in the side he has to be benched imo. Think we will suffer the same problems as last year playing with no natural wide player with pace to stretch the opposition.
Will be interesting if we get a playmaker in who will be dropped to the bench? Barkley, McCarthy and Barry will most likely keep their places so one of Cleverly or Kone will have to go.
Spot on MaCarthy was woefull today, Cleverly would be better playing alongside RB looked better in the middle of midfield than stuck out wide!On today's showing mate it won't be Cleverly losing his place but McCarthy.

How many times did we say that about Barry and Howard last season though mate. Certain players don't get dropped under Martinez and Mccarthy is one of them.
I think Kone was a nice little experiment but once the playmaker comes in he has to drop back to the bench. I also think Martinez still doesn't know what his best side is, I don't think he will fit mirallas into the side yet never sold him when he had the chance.

I'm getting vaulted all over the shop here via the like button. Worst of all, it's that I rated him and hated him within a few months of each post, thus proving my WUM credentials.
You monsters. Hurt here.
For me, even if we were signing a random 26 year old from Azerbaijan, I'd have a different view. I wouldn't know for sure if he's going to be good or not, and I wouldn't even be able to have a guess.
With Cleverley, I know for certain. I'd be delighted to be vaulted on this, but here goes - he's one of the worst, most ineffectual footballers I've ever seen at Premier League level. He's right alongside Jack Rodwell in terms of just existing on a football pitch. It was amazing when I watched Villa last month when they ran riot over Sunderland - everyone looked rejuvenated and playing well, except Tom Cleverley who despite a 4-0 win still looked absolute turd!
I think he'll have a similar effect to first season Gareth Barry. Will keep the team moving.
Me too, pretty safe in this thread...I hope, some other horrendous vaulting could be had elsewhere mind.Just got a historic like of @chicoazul ... He may be snooping around the vaults... Be afraid
