He kept losing out in challenges. I'm sorry but I really don't rate him. He was half decent against stoke but has infuriated me in every other game.

His first touch is always about ten yards out of his feet, isn't it.

The fact of the matter is;

He's not a better centre midfielder than Barry, McCarthy or Besic.
He's not a better attacking midfielder than Barkley
He's not even in the same stratosphere as Pienaar or Mirallas at left mid.

So where should we play him? Even today, at home to Swansea, we could have brought Kone on up front with Lukaku, dropped Barkley back and tried something different. But know, that ultra successful 4-2-3-1 formation we play had to be maintained, and what better chance did we have to put Cleverley in to it.
