Think Besic would look at this season as a bedding in season, and would look to be getting more game time next season, Martinez has always rated Cleverley, so you could see Martinez slotting Cleverley in alongside McCarthy, Barry will still be here, just can't see Besic wanting to warm the bench again.

Surely more likely that he'll be seen as a long term replacement for Barry or Osman. Besic, Barkley, Cleverley and McCarthy to fill 2 or 3 positions looks like a good choice to me.

I think he still wants to play under Martinez again, and with us being based in the North West it'll be back to familiar surroundings for him. I think if we genuinely want him, we'll get him.

He's a decent player available on a free who can be part of our 1st team squad for the next 8 or 9 years. Seems a no brainer to me.

We'll see.

I think he's a fine player and I'd be happy to see him play for us but I thought we were fine at dm already, if I'm honest.

I like McCarthy, I like Gibson, I like the looks of Besic. Even barry is fine as long as he isn't played too often. I just don't see any great need for another player of that type.

Can see where your coming from, but as I mention, if Cleverley did come, you could see Martinez playing him and McCarthy in the middle, even if Barry and Osman left, Besic still could find himself third/fourth choice for one of those spots in the middle.

Don't think that Martinez sees him as a DM though, possibly more of a Pienaar/Osman type.
