It's not as if Cleverly is going to cost a huge fee to sign him.
A young, English midfielder with premiership experience. A player that has already several international caps , a player favoured by SAF but not by David Moyes.

I think he could do well at Everton and even if he doesn't he will still have a resale value.

Why can players not be given a chance before being castigated without ever having ppulled on our jersey?

It does seem inevitable and unispiring and so far Martinez record in the transfer market has been hit and miss, but let's judge him on his performances in a blue shirt if he comes instead of lining up yet another whipping boy before he sets foot on the pitch.
Obviously Osmans successor.Every club needs one....or two.

This is why: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-uniteds-tom-cleverley-barely-3297459

At one of the best clubs in the land at the time, and he pulled out that.

Tom Cleverley – 7 – Put in a big shift last night. The work he has put in and the improvement in his overall game since the arrival of the new boss is clearly evident. Hit a sweet ball to Benteke inside the box on 6 minutes but our striker was clearly offside.

It,s alarming the amount of bang average players we are stocking in our 1st team squad and now this link as well.

We should be building a team around our best players and the buying policy should be targeted at high quality or youth with massive potential.

No mate, OPTA stats. Hard proof. The platform for the stats is irrelevant, all of them are accurate.

He's statistically gash.

So is 'Ross the Boss', and Pienaar is our most productive midfielder.

You know as well as I do that stats can be used to back any opinion up.

Mikel was statisticly the best midfielder in the prem last season.

LOL @ everyone writing him off already. He was considered a good talent coming through and has had a bad year or so but still mid 20s and has time to pull it round. At least wait for him to be gash in a blue shirt before attacking him.

0.3 dribbles per game, 0.4 key passes per game, zero clear cut chances created all season (this was a World Cup season btw!) , zero assists, zero through balls... All whilst playing for Manchester United.

Yes, if the stats were mildly against him, I wouldn't use them, as it'd just indicate that he's not the best in a certain area, but when the stats conclusively show that he does literally nothing but five yard water carrier passes then it's reasonable to use them.

Also, his average heat map pretty much definitively shows how bad he is.

Moyes ruined him. He was decent before that.

we play with a 2-3 midfield. One side winger, one wide attacking midfielder, a number 10 and 2 sitting dms. Cleverley covers all of these except winger. I reckon he'd be good squad addition if we can phase out Osman and possibly shift Barry or Gibson.
