IF he signs I will give him support, though I hope he performs better than at Wembley in the FA Final. Every pass was backwards/side and safe. He never attempted to beat a man or make intelligent movement, often going into blind alleys. I realise Arsenal where on another level, but they are a side I want us to compete with next season.

Hear what yer sayin but out of their 3 midfielders i thought Cleverly at least looked like he was trying to make things happen.Delph & Grealish were shocking ,as were Aston Villa on the whole.But gotta say Arsenal bossed it every where Benteke looked like a raw kid up against Mertesaker.So wouldnt judge Cleverly on that showing, on a free its a no brainer as long as the other signings in he window are right.A"Door unlocker" gotta be a must.Cleverly could be a really good aquisition for the squad.
 

I just can't get even remotely excited about him. 3 goals and no assists all season from 32 games. Only started scoring at the end of April in a purple patch, was goalless for his first 26 or something. He's honestly no better than anything we have.

Leon Osman has 2 goals and 2 assists in about 10 less games and was more of a sub this season.
 
Think he's gotten a lot of unfair stick for his performance in the final. Wasn't like he was the only player who couldn't cope with Arsenal, the entire Villa team seemed to freeze on the day.

With the likes of Barry Osman and pienaar on their last legs, a 25yr old international for free is not bad business imo.

Will he be a vital cog in the machine these next few years? Probably not....I wouldn't of thought.

I come on here and sometimes it's embarrassing,The amount of knowledge of players some posters have is astounding,they clearly have wasted talent and should offer their scouting prowess to top clubs,
Either that or they have lived in a teenage bubble playing football games or this is their first transfer window being an Evertonian.
Rant over.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion on a player, whether everyone agrees or not.
