He'd make our team better mate. He's a very underrated player IMO.
Most overated undertated player in world football.

Everyone bangs on about how good he is, so how can he be underrated?

he's a very average player playing in a good team, but because he's english and been semi succesful, whilst being a hard worker theres some mad clamour over him/

City were a much better side with him in in recent years. He's one of those players that any side needs in their team - yes he'll always put a shift in but his end product is also very good on a consistent basis. He provides balance and also that bit of quality - not saying he's the best there is by any stretch, but I don't think there's a team in the Prem at the moment except Chelsea that he wouldn't get into, I do think he's been misused by City. He's not going to fire Liverpool to a title any time soon, but I do think he's a very good signing for them.

respect your opinion but i think we'll see just how good a player he actually is at liverpool, don't think he'll be very good at all.

He was superb at Villa before his move to City???!!!
He was okay, he got moved into center mid and blossomed for about six months, he wasn't anything special and still isn't.

You're right in the sense every team needs a worker like him, but he looks way better than he is at city due to the players around him.

Fair enough lad, I respect yours. My opinion on Milner was similar to you up until the end of last season. I get what you're saying, and I don't think that he'll tear up any trees for the RS, and obviously it helps having world class players to combine with (but who wouldn't be made better by that?), but I do think he's a good signing for them.

For me though, City actually only have four attacking players that are better than Milner - and that's Silva, Aguero, Bony and Toure. No doubt that Silva and Aguero are world class, and Toure can be on his day (though I think he's wasted as a DM), while Bony is a very good striker but not world class.

My point being is that Milner could slip into any of the top teams in this country and, probably, the top teams in most leagues bar Bayern, Real and Barca.

i think he's just a squad player for the 'bigger teams' a bit like a naismith who can play football at a better standard really.

But respect your opinion as i said!

My main concern is where he'll play. We play a 4-2-3-1. He's not dropping one of his DMs any time soon and if he did Besic should get time before a signing. So is he in the slot behind the striker or a faux winger?
Martinez has played 4141 lately with Barry in front of the back four. In that scenario I could see Cleverley in the left cm role and McCarthy on the right. Martinez has gone 433 as well. That would accommodate Cleverley also.
