I thought he did well... but then I am a fan of Tom Davies.

I thought that both Gomes and Sigurdsson were horrendous and that Davies tried to give some energy to midfield , I thought he covered well and even tried to get forward.

At one point, he tackled Ben Davies, Ben Davies fell over, got up, and still got to the ball first after Tom’s first touch. He’s too slow.

He was the probably our second best starting midfielder Yesterday.

That’s how bad our midfield is.

Needs to get out of the club for 12 months and learn his best position somewhere like JJK did.
He looks a bit lost and the others aren’t helping him at all

Orly...I know Davies is never going to be great however he is only 22yrs old & does have a future in the prem he will improve & be a good squad player for our team for many years...

Compare him to our other midfield presently....

Sigurdsson leggy & ageing....
Iwobi.....injury prone....
Walcott....injury prone...
Gbamin....always been injured....
Bernard weak,unfit & hardly ever completes 90mins...
Gomes....still finding his fitness & form from a bad injury....

he’s played 100 games, yet 2.5 game Anthony Gordon produces more in 45 minutes than young Thomas has in the last 94 games

I think Tom gives it his best (which not too many can say) but his best isn’t good enough in this formation. He’s not quick enough.

With better players around I think Davies can still play a part for us next season....

He's not been playing at all well. But he's still been doing better than Sigurdsson and Gomes.

That's obviously a bit of a problem, but he doesn't deserve to be scapegoat when those around him have been even poorer.
