Will your team have a new CM come September, with Sigurdsson and Davies distant memories?

With the spending power of your two owners, surely that’s achievable this summer.

Hopefully but unfortunately the club seem to have a hard on for Davies despite this probably being the point that they should tell him he’s surplus to requirements.

As for Sigurdsson, ain’t no one buying him

Sigurdsson will be here until his contract expires sadly. No club is paying anything for him.

Why does he keep starting then? bangingimie hasn't been given a chance over him once, clearly he hasn't been playing well, but also he isn't the worst player we have

The short version is: because academy players that make the first team always get a good, hard look. It's not hard to see why, either - if you look at the wage structure, they cost half what you'd pay to replace them.

The difference between DCL and Davies as prospects is that it wasn't that hard to see what managers saw/see in DCL. Somebody with DCL's pace and skill set could develop into a player that isn't profligate in front of goal. It's not clear to me what skill or skills Davies can develop to a world-class level.

I tend to think that Davies works hard and cares, and that calling him "not arsed" is grossly unfair. That said, I just don't see the pathway for him to become a Prem level player at any position (including his current one).

Still, if you have to give playing time to someone when you're out to replace the lot, you might as well give it to a young player who might develop into a better resale prospect than he otherwise would, as opposed to veterans who are what they are at this point.

The guy has been found badly wanting in this run of games. Its a real shame because it would be boss to develop a capable talent through the academy, but its probably not going to happen for him at the club long turn, barring some incredible turnaround.

I honestly don't think he'd be playing so much if we had other options, such as Delph and Gbamin, available. He's a squad filler asked to be the linchpin, so I can't get too wound up at him. Bad luck and poor recruitment are at play here.

He looks like he has 20lbs ankle weights on with the ball. Technically hes fine (good touch, decent feet), but moving with the ball, chasing down, or holding the ball up...he's weak. His legs seem as though they're in quick sand.

It's as though the pace of the league is too much for him. The only comparison is Osman but he had an intelligence about him, was nimble and had a better engine.

He needs to up himself physically to stand any chance imo.

Osman was a decent squad player and miles ahead.

We are like a pension home. If they ain't good enough just release them and use the resources to bring other players in
.

You've got loads in the tank here as well.

Osman liability.

Osman is [swearing word] terrible.

Hindsight is great. To be fair he was terrible in that current squad at times but at least he got his fair share of goals and assists. This prick Davies doesn’t even get any of them so has absolutely nothing to fall back on.
