I agree
Would love him to succeed, but maybe he just needs a push. Say Norwich or Bournemouth even but one of the better Championship clubs would really make him stronger.

By the way re: other posters who don't like his holiday to New York fashion week, I think his 'fashion' and love for Instagram should not at all be used against him. We have no idea what else he does outside football and as a 20something if he liked spending his money and posting it online we have to assume he's not doing it instead of training and playing. Most top players play playstation or go to Dubai etc..Take LB3 bainesy for instance, as a comparison. He is the opposite of Davies in terms of his social media and the image he portrays, but he's a different generation. He's decided to stay private, but the rumours are that he's big into music, photography etc and that's his escape or break from football. So what if he does that in his private time? Doesn't mean he's not committed to Everton. I remember when he was on a run of bad form people started criticising his private life.

I saw Bainesy and Davies at Bold Street Coffee a few weeks ago … in the morning they were at training. were they wrong to go out for a coffee and hang out with mates on the street? Should they have gone straight home and watched more videos of training and matches etc?

I think we're harsh..younger players are obvciously more on social media, and obviously they want to be like Ronaldo and show off their body and their looks on Instagram, especially if they're single. Just judge them on the pitch only, leave their behaviour to the coaching staff

It’s not just Tom Davies, I have doubts about what the whole squad get upto outside of training. You hear the stories about Lampard doing running and finishing drills by himself after training and his teammates thinking he was weird. The same with Ronaldo. That’s what the best players do though.

It infuriates me that Coleman can’t cross a ball. At some point in the ten years he’s been with us could he not spend hours and hours doing nothing but perfecting that technique? Same with Davies when he’s over hitting balls out of play, the reason you didnt see Xavi or Iniesta doing that is because they’d spend hours and hours outside of training practising passing over different ranges on right and left foot. Calvert Lewin has got moles better but he could be spending all his time perfecting finishing with either foot from different angles.

They don’t though, they go to training, do the drills, then go home. Which is why we’re 12th.

Spot on about arlarse fans who assume a player posting on insta and being into fashion means they don't train hard. It's an absolute load of sh!te. Not everyone is Ronaldo and just trains and plays 24/7.

But yeah, he's had it a bit too comfortable at Everton, 100%. Hope the club gives him the push he needs.

He is so very far from good enough that I think the loan route is a waste of time. I genuinely don't think he'd get into a single PL side (including promoted clubs). I imagine any clubs that might be interested wouldn't have a pot to tinkle in, so I'd settle for a free transfer to anyone will to pay his wages.
Maybe a 6 month loan to a Championship club, there's a bit of cash in that league so they could be able to afford the majority of his wages. Get him playing frequently in a league where he (hopefully) looks like a handy player and we might have a few more offers float in.

It would best to send Davies out on loan as I can't see him getting too much game time with us next season. Surely Marcel Brands can fix something up with a Dutch club to take him for a year; at least then the lad would be getting games plus he would be in the shop window.

That's also true. I've said elsewhere, what they do on Instagram and in their private lives is nothing to do with their quality of play in general, in my opinion, cos they are just doing the same as other players - fashion week instead of dubai, buying clothes instead of cars, posting on insta instead of playing playstation..however if they really want to be good, better than average and maybe the best, yes they could be doing that extra work. In my job I read and watch a lot of stuff out of hours to improve and become better in my field..so you could do similar.

maybe he should be a right back. He doesn't have the fundamentals for cm

I thought he was a RB in the U23s / youth team? I'm sure he came on for Coleman under Martinez in the Europa League?
His headless chicken running around style is maybe the evidence that he would be better in a limited space
His famous goal against Man City was like a perfect Right wing back run and goal
