Yeah, I think you misunderstood. I'd keep both Gomes and Gbamin, so we'd have a group of 4 first choice midfielders for 2 or 3 positions depending upon the formation we play. But due to their injuries we'd also need cover for that group.

I personally think Delph, at his age, and Ziggy for that matter, would want to play regularly. We've already seen half arsed attitudes from them both at times, and Delph in particular is injury prone himself. They are also both on mega wages. I can see both creating a problem if they were playing second fiddle, and I think both would be keen for a move if it was made clear they weren't going to get much game time. We've already seen Delph linked with Leeds.

For me, getting their attitudes out of the dressing room and getting their costs off the wage bill are factors we can't ignore, which is why, of the three, I'd keep Davies as cover. Just for one year until his place in the squad can be taken by one of our up and coming youngsters. But as I said, if we can get decent money for him, say £10m, I'd sell Tom too and keep hold of Beni for another year. I'd definitely be looking to oust Siggy and Delph though.
Well Gbamin has been injured but of course, I guess depends on if we get any offers for Davies. We have a few youngsters who could be squad players. He is ok as a squad player the issue is our luck will be he will end up starting again. We need better quality and depth two central midfielders at least but can you see this club bringing two in this summer? Maybe one person and one on loan, It may take a few windows to sort this midfield out though.

Keeping him as a low wage 4th/5th mid is not a bad idea per se. But if he doesn’t play regularly he definitely won’t improve. I do think that not playing regularly and being jerked around in different systems and roles has hindered his development.

Loan for a year to the Championship. Let him play 90 every week in a tough Competition. If he shows something bring him back. If not cut bait. It worked wonders for Holgate. Best way to maximize the asset imo.

Yeah it's a gamble whether he get's back to the pre injury level, which is why I said the price needed to be right.

He'd just worked his way into the Bournemouth team when he got injured too. He was a real all rounder for a midfielder, something you rarely see in the modern game.

Thats the snag isnt it...we would have a central nidfield coming off major injuries. Very risky.

Thats what medicals are for i suppose. Hes captained through England youth so hes got something about him.

Bournemouth need money of course so a swap for Davies may not be interesting for them unless additional cash was involved.

Howe has gone as well and i reckon he would have taken Davies/Kenny...my first thought would be Norwich for both of them.

Id be surprised if Davies is here at the start of the 21/22 season.

I like Tom Davies, just not too sure about his new image:

I think the amount of stick he gets is unwarranted. The lad's only 22. None of the midfielders around him have been great. Look at the money we spent on Walcott, Schneiderlin and Bolasie. I'd rather we stick to investment in homegrown players who can improve rather than overpaying for average players.

Yup he has improved a lot. At least his "garderobe" has. He needs a few new skirts and it would be perfect.

He's a little fanny waste of space that needs shunting ASAP

No one took up a suggestion that he "transits" to the ladies team. He would definitely improve their football and teach them dressing style as well. Or failing that, make him their manager when the new one fails.
