No point loaning.

He's not progressed as we'd hoped but he's still only 21. If we bring in a couple of new CMs, I'd be happy to have him here another year as a squad player. After that, if he's still not good enough to be considered a starter we should sell and his place in the squad taken by somebody else from the youth set up.

What you have to remember is that we're not a big enough club to have a squad of 20+ superstars all fighting for 11 starting spots. we need players like Tom to make up the squad.

I dont think we can loan him.

At the moment hes a 21 year old 100+ match premier league centre mid.

A championship loan may make him a failed championship player and lower his value.

Could probably get £12-15mil for him now or use in a swap deal.

I think the difference with Holgate is that he had already shown what he could do in an Everton shirt and just wet off the boil a bit. We were very lucky we had an injury crisis this season as he may not have still been here otherwise.

Davies hasn't really shown anything for us other than brief glimpses.

We can't sell yet, we haven't enough midfielders as it is. It may be that if we do buy, and improve our midfield he may be dragged along with that improvement.

Ultimately though at the moment he hasn't shown enough, maybe a few games on the bench watching seasoned performers, assuming we buy some may help him.

End of day besic is actually a better player which says it all. I'd hope he went on loan. Got rid of the constant mistakes. He needs to bulk up. I do believe he puts in effort. He just he looks lost.

Unlike most young players this lad has been fortunate enough to have had plenty of opportunities to play first team football, and, as I said, he hasn't progressed. I think it's fair to say that it's unlikely now that he'll make it here which is one of the reasons why we are needing to bring in possibly 2 centre midfielders during this window.

I don't see the point loaning him out. If we can fetch a decent price for him, maybe as much as £10m given his age, experience and the fact he's home grown, then I'd sell him now. Otherwise I'd keep him as squad cover for another season until his place in the squad is ready to be taken on by one of our younger players coming through. There are a number of good prospects coming up from the U18s this season.

As I said, we need players like Tom as part of the squad to be bit part players. They offer more than senior players with their can't be arsed attitudes and disruptiveness in the dressing rooms cos they aren't getting a game. Not to mention the silly money they are on. Now we've finally managed to bin Schneids, I'd take Tom as backup rather than Delph or Siggy next season. Bring in 2 CMs to add to Gomes and Gbamin,

If we can sell Tom, then I'd keep hold of Beni to fill the same role for a season. You never know, he may even come good. He's not been given the same opportunities as Tom and he looked promising the little we saw of him 2/3 years ago.

Yeah probably right, I was thinking more of a German loan but yes decent offer off he goes

Not sure what happened to him. There was certainly nothing wrong with his level at the end of 16/17 when he was playing really well. He’s just declined massively from there. His aggressiveness is gone his confidence is gone, his touch has gone. Even in 17/18 he came back into the team ahead of Klaasen Siggurdson and Schneiderlin on the central areas because he gave us some creativity and a bit of bite. Now he offers absolutely nothing. Could understand if he’d had a bad injury but he’s been playing exactly the amount he should have been for a player hoping to develop in his key years between 18-22 and despite this he’s just gone massively backwards. 16/17 Tom Davies could run all over the current one and I don’t know why. Is it our coaching or the player?
