He was made Captain last season ..... from Captain to not getting on the bench? - bust up is my guess......
He was made captain for a league cup game in which we made a raft of changes. I said at the time:

"I think Silva's decision to give him the captaincy suggests that he may agree with what I've been saying on here for years; that captaincy is a fairly redundant role in the modern game and is more given as a little perk to the individual rather than with a belief that it will have a material impact on the performance of the team."

What has happened since just strengthens my belief that this is the case.

hopefully your kidding here,

if not, what do you want him to do mate, be sitting in a doorway somewhere crying? is he not allowed his tea because we lost? unless he was running round shouting everton lost na nahhhh na nah through a megaphone i don't think you say he was completely unarsed about us losing

Lad? Chill out a bit yeah?

The worst thing about us losing is that people think this fella would've made a difference to the result.

I think the one thing he would have provided that Morgs didn't would be the ability to use his legs and get up field. Its a think of beauty with a winger and midfielder having a little 1-2. Morgs just cant do that and I honestly think Davies would have shown a spark our team needed. Just like Gomes usually provides in his role

Wrong he was captain v Leicester's away in a 2-1:,win where he had a very good game...

Well it's not wrong is it. I'd forgotten that he was also captain for another game, but that doesn't change what I've written. He was still captain for the league cup game, and I still don't think it was done because Silva thought he was just so good that the other players couldn't fail to be lifted to a higher level in his presence.

Tom does make great runs. For all his faults, he is one of the few players in our midfield that has great movement. You can argue that the ability isn’t there, but his movement off the ball is very good.

But Davies doesn’t do that either, he gets left out of games and people start making stuff up about him. He tries to play 1-2s with the opposition.

His composure is not the best, but he is the only midfielder that actually makes darting runs into the box. I’m not sure if that is a compliment to Tom or damnation of our other midfielders.

It’s like the other midfielders are simply there to watch the game and play with the ball when it comes their way. Good movement something I’d like to see from Gomes and Siggy every now and again. Delph can join in too if he likes.
