Quite the opposite. A succession of 4 different managers played him over 50 times in the PL before he was 21, sounds like putting faith in him to me. He’s not good enough for the England first team , but captains the England u21, similarly if all our full international players are playing like they should he won’t get in the team, when those same players are playing like we did against Villa and Bournemouth he can hardly do any worse.
I think we’ll agree to differ in this one. Apart from a short spell under Koeman, he has never been a regular starter for us under different managers. I’ve said before, his career has stalled, maybe it’s due to the change in managers that has disrupted the lads progress, but no one can deny the lad has not progressed in the last two years.

His composure is not the best, but he is the only midfielder that actually makes darting runs into the box. I’m not sure if that is a compliment to Tom or damnation of our other midfielders.

It’s like the other midfielders are simply there to watch the game and play with the ball when it comes their way. Good movement something I’d like to see from Gomes and Siggy every now and again. Delph can join in too if he likes.

The limitation of our midfield is ridiculous. They never give the opposition anything to think about. I'm convinced how rigid we are in this area makes us so easy to play against away from home.

The thing that really gets me is that with two sitting midfielders we still look so open. We don't benefit in any sense.

Exactly. They are way too static and that speaks volumes about our play on the road. At least at home we know how to pressure and cause mistakes. Away we need that clever bit of movement and not one of the starting midfielders provides that.

He will be off the bench tomorrow, to boss that midfield, and grab a late winner.

PS. Here's a selfie I took earlier today.

STRAIGHTJACKET..webp

Could have set a timer before getting into the straitjacket?
You make a valid point. I clearly didn't think it through.

P.S. I think TD has a lot of and should still be classed as potential. He's been miss managed and suffered for his early success.

Well it would have to be one hell of a timer - and you need help getting into one so completely plausible. The picture is also clearly in portrait framing, which would be difficult to position. Unless he had a tripod.

What is this??

I'm here to read up on Tom Davies and him only...

Other than conceding the 2nd fewest shots in the league and having the 4th highest possession %. Which is amazing considering how often we give the ball away. Davies isn't going to help that.
