Just don't get the hate for Davies, he is a local lad and an everton fan. Ok, he may not be what we need right now in midfield but I genuinely think he tries which is all we can ask. Not his fault he gets played every week.
Don't have any hate for Tom myself. He's just a very limited footballer. He tries but struggles to pass. Struggles to tackle, no pace or power, no goalscoring threat. Still say he can't do much upper body work because he is so easily knocked off the ball. People say he is young. He is but he hasn't improved in the last 4 years. I like his eccentric dress sense as I like characters. But wether he is local or not he is not premier ship level

I remember reading when he first came through, that nobody at the academy had ever really expected much of him when he was younger.

It was always Ledson and Dowell who were tipped for big things and Tom was just seen as a bit of a run of the mill academy player.

Not really surprising that now. After watching over 100 games of him most Evertonians would struggle to tell you what he does well

This is bollocks, he was highly regarded and playing a year up. He trained with the England senior team before he’d even made his debut for us I believe.

Fair enough.

Maybe I just read that in somebody's post on here as opposed to from something legit lol

I do feel like he came out of nowhere tho. I'd never heard of him before he made his debut but Dowell / Kenny (who made their debuts in that same game i think) were being touted as the next big things

never kicked on from that level. Think everyone hoped he’d get a yard of pace, a bit of strength, add some experience to his game etc. None of that has happened. If anything he’s worse because the unpredictability he used to have is gone.

Big respect to the kid, he made it through the academy system, and got himself a contract. Fair play. Cant dislike him though for being deemed not good enough. It's the management that should take the fall for ultimately picking players that are not up to the perceived standard.

Spike in coronavirus cases at Premier League clubs

There has been a spike in positive coronavirus tests since Premier League players returned to training last weekend, with 14 cases recorded at just 12 clubs, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The figures are unofficial – the Premier League is only expected to continue regularly publishing test results when the season resumes on September 12 – but have raised concerns among the clubs.
A particular worry is whether players from different clubs have been mixing together on holiday – some have even, it appears, been sharing and visiting each other’s villas – with many having flocked to southern Europe during their time off. It could lead to more positive tests.
Most clubs have resumed training this week with testing taking place, from last Saturday, as it did so with Project Restart. The number of positive cases is disproportionately high. It is unclear how many are players, but they are understood to be among those who have tested positive. It is also understood that not all cases have been asymptomatic.

Could this be part of the reason why Davies, DCL, Richarlison and Bernard haven't turned up at FF yet you wonder?

That's it, I think it's a failure in coaching. Would be really interesting to see how many coaches he's had since 2015, as i've suggested elsewhere, is probably a bigger reason he hasn't kicked on.

He was fantastic at 18, really positive, confident young lad. Looked actually physically better too which is bizarre as I don’t know how you let that regress. I actually still think there’s a player in there but he physically can’t compete so he can’t play his game. Needs to move on for me, sadly though.

This, exactly.
He’s physically regressed I think, can’t play the game he wants to because of it. He backs himself to run off players/take that touch and hold them off when he’s simply not capable of doing so.
