Newcastle were interested in signing or loaning Davies....... Like you I can think of more deadwood than him if we have an injury in midfield it leaves us a bit bare......
We have Allan, Donkeree, Gomes, Gmblammo, some day, maybe, Hamez can play there, Iceland, IMO we can afford to lose the rest.
Gambin need putting there - he will never play again for us imo.....
A loan period may do Tom the world of good ...but we still have more deadwood than him imo-

Personally I would possibly keep Davies, as you say, we defo cant rely on Gmblammo.

You know what you get with Tom, he runs about and presses people, he seems to have good stamina and doesn't get injured - he also has potentially 10 years left in his career. Perhaps that is what Southampton need.
The only slight doubt is what to do if/when Allan gets injured - Doucoure, Gomez, Delph ? Are they all ahead of Tom defensively ?
