Wrong IMO because a Kevin de Bruyne 6 is better than a Tom Davies 8. World class players are still better that good players or very good players.
Then we're talking completely at odds because a 6/10 is a 6/10 regardless of who it comes from IMO. If KDB was putting in 6/10 games week in week out he wouldn't be rated as highly as he is.

The difference is that world class players are capable of sometimes delivering 10/10s and very rarely have 5/10 days.

Nil satis..

So every player is a failure unless they're consistently delivering MOTM performances? You do realise the flaw there is that you can only have one MOTM therefore every week there's gonna be 10 players not up to scratch?

The greatest players in the history of the game never hit their best game in / game out.

True dat. I put in some shockers for Timperley wanderers week in week out

Good to see him playing a lot better. The Spurs midfield was very disappointing though Ndombele aside and once he went off Winks was a joke. It’s one thing looking good against them and another taking on Fernandes Pogba, De Bruyne Gundogan Rodri, Fabinho Henderson Wijnaldum, Kante Kovacic etc.

It’s not a criticism of Tom, it’s a criticism of pace in the team in general. Even Siggurdson looked half decent against Spurs because they just seemed to vacate the midfield at time sin that game. There’ll be other games though when the lack of pace of the two of them together will be exposed and we’ll find ourselves hemmed in unable to break out of a press.

Our best team in my eyes still had Allan and Docuoure in midfield with Gomes as first sub but it’s good to see nearly every single player in the squad improving under Carlo.

Tom did play well against Spurs, has a really good team ethic and has improved.

However, he needs to be upgraded if the team is going to progress.

Surely we can all agree that.

I recall Paul Power and Harper played important roles in EFC's title years and lets hope that Tom can
do the same.
