If Lampard genuinely thinks he can get something out of him then maybe we should let him try?

I don't know

Lampard doesn't strike me as someone who would keep a player around that he doesn't see anything in just for sentimental reasons

Maybe I'm wrong and there are examples of him doing that, but I can't see him doing that when his reputation is on the line
I'm going to blindly put my trust in Frank and see where it gets us come the start of the new season. If Davies is still here so be it, but I'll be crying inside if Gomes is here for another season.

I will never forget when the manager of the day made Davies captain for the Arsenal away game. I knew then that the rot had truly set in at EFC.

Evolution not revolution. Frank has started it with insisting on effort/attitude as the minimum.
Steady improvement in personnel over the next couple of transfer windows and further improvements/integration with young players like Myko, Gordon and Patterson and we will start to look like a reasonable side. The big unknowns are DCL, Pickers and Richy. IMO DCL has been missed badly this season. If a couple of those go, we have to hope the replacements are quality and ready to hit the ground running.
Exactly that. The shouts of 'not good enough' when various players are linked are really baffling.

They don't need to be elite. They just need to better than our worst player in that position.

Our owner tried chucking large sums to gatecrash the top end, it's very rarely works.

There is a fixed list of attributes for any players we bring in this season to be guaranteed to improve us…
1) two lungs, both functioning, must be able to be active on the field for 90-95 minutes without the lungs collapsing.
2) a spine, also functioning, must not be scared to death of spherical objects passed to them in a competitive environment.
3) two eyes, both functioning, able to pick out a team mate in a forward position at distances beyond two metres, and a ball floated into their own penalty area.

There are other attributes of course, but those three as the fixed benchmark will improve us no end, calm my ulcer and prevent my inevitable breakdown if next season resembles this one in any way, shape or form.
thank you.

Wouldnt lose sleep if we sold him. Would wish him the best. Wouldnt lose sleep if we kept him as a squad member who could fill in now and again cup matches etc as cheaper option. Nowhere near the first 11 or we are in trouble again. That goes for a lot of them though.

That goal against City was the worst thing that could have happened to him. It’s made us think he never really kicked on and in fact got worse, when in reality he was always an average player.

However, he’s here, he’s not on that much money and a place in the squad. I hope Frank will give him a chance and can get a tune out of him as per Iwobi.

I'd dearly love to see six local lads as weekly starters and like many others thought he'd kick on from a very promising start to maybe even be the second coming of Colin Harvey, but it's looking more and more that he's Championship level at best. Maybe Lampard has seen something we've all missed, time will tell.

This is perfect, as long as our scouts are issued with this directive we should be on to a winner. ?
