Actually we aren't short on funds. Moshiri has large cash reserves.

We're running at a heavy loss, in breach of or very near breaching various rules relating to profit and loss. So we aren't allowed to SPEND further unless we start bringing money back in, either through player sales or improved commercial activity.

This is where Davies becomes interesting; he's an Academy graduate, so for accounting purposes he cost zero... Any sale is pure profit.

- We have to bring in more CMs anyway.
- We can't keep everyone on the payroll.
- Gomes, Gbamin and Doucoure will all be harder to sell at a profit; selling them at a loss just causes bigger financial problems.
- Allan will take Davies' squad place, with a new starting CM or DM coming in.

In terms of finance, and where he is in the existing pecking order, selling TD makes a LOT of sense - particularly if done in combination with loaning Gomes out and getting HIS wage off the books.
If we can't spend, we're short of funds. The reasons why don't matter.

The profit aspect always depends on fees offered but Doucoure and Allan are likely to have sales values that may turn profits plus they earn 3x what Davies does.

Watch newcastle get shirt sponsored for 300m. Just like citys training ground got sponsored for ridiculous money.

Bent as a banana but its why they continue to spend and Everton have justify incomings versus outgoings.

We need to be as crafty.

We had USM sponsoring us for everything. It's not about craftiness, it's about how rich our owners are and if our Government/FA/PL are willing to overlook the actions of those owners/regimes.

Crafty/sense. Its not a world apart. Sponsoring their training kit is genius.
Still under investigation. Going on for about 3 years now. Nothing will come of it and rightly so.
FFP is a farce.

I put Tom Davies enjoying a glass of chilled red wine in that Dall-E website everyone’s using now and got this.

It's been five and a half years since that game against Manchester City. I am staggered that a player who has shown zero progression in half a decade has been allowed to remain at the football club. He must pray every night and be thankful that he was born in Liverpool, won the kin lottery he did.
Is there any Everton player at all that you rate?

We’re not short of funds. We’re just not allowed to spend them.

With the rumours that we are for sale, I would say we are short of funds.

What motivation does Moshiri have to throw more money down the well?
Well for starters he is finding C a £500m stadium and he needs us to stay in the PL to protect his investment.

The problem is the FFP constraint, not funds.
