Davies' replacement needs to be of first team quality; capable of either displacing the ageing Allan to the bench or playing alongside him in a central midfield of 2 or 3.

Allan arguably when talking offensively (even that is highly debatable) but I’m not having Tom D is better offensively than Doucoure by any measure.

Doucoure is miles ans miles better offensively.

However, Davies still performed an important role yesterday.

Is this how he wants to spend the rest of his career, making the odd subs appearance, coming in for a couple of games when a the first choice midfielders is injured and starting against division one teams in the Carabao Cup ?

Surely being a regular starter for a club in the Championship or in the SPL would be more appealing.
