Not good enough to start, allright squad player but will never be anything more than that for us. I'm sure we will replace him in the next couple of years and he will go and be a starter elsewhere.

Don't blame him for the disallowed goal really. Yes you could say he should have shot, but you could also argue that mina should have timed his run better and this conversation wouldn't even be happening.

Its not got much to do with mina.
There is a great clip on the Everton youtube channel of this. Great side on view. As the ball drops to davies.
The first thing you notice is the poor first touch. Instead of his first touch bringing him in it takes him slightly out. You then see him clearly look at de gea. And then look at mina. I know its a split second thing but its what seperates teams with good players who kill you off. And teams that dont. Davies when looking across can see mina is offside and plays a forward pass. Its almost impossible for mina to stay onside and then be available for the pass. The red shirt blocks the pass if he checks his run.
So in terms of this conversation not happening. You're right. It shouldnt be because davies clearing looking up and seeing an offside player and playing a forward pass.
Like i say. Teams with players who kill you off. And teams that dont.
Hey ho. Shoulda won it. Never.

This is based on a 3 man midfield. For a team that wants to finish in the top 4 he can be 7th choice. At a team that wants to finish top 6 he can be 6th choice. At a team that wants to finish 7th-12th 4th choice. If he is a regular in the starting 3 unless the other 2 are worldies you will finish lower table. Basically he can start an odd game and is also useful to close some games out. I actually don't think he's that much worse than Henderson but the RS bypass their midfield so he doesn't have such a negative effect. He's on low wages and won't rock the boat if not playing regularly. He's got another 18 months on his contract so let's see where we are once Delph and Sigurdsson contract have expired. If we have Allan Doucoure still and we replace them 2 with a 3rd player for team and a back up. Suddenly Davies Gbamin and Gomes battling for 5th-7th choice. If Gbamin has shaken his injuries and is actually contributing Davies probably will be 7th choice and I would consider giving him another 2 years. I would also be looking at the academy Onyango etc and if any of them are looking like being good enough maybe sell him as this is a way to show a pathway to the first team.
