Had a couple of good moments, like he did against Watford, but in the middle of the park, when alacrity, speed of thought, nous, desire to impose his will, etc would have driven another player to make a positive impact, he kind of just moved vaguely in the direction of the play, being a body in space,not surrendering anything but not making anything good happen either.

He is 23 years old. Has over 100 games in the PL, approaching 150. If he does not do something revolutionary, then he will hardly be a first team player for Everton in the near future. Maybe he will benefit from a change of environment, I do not know, but he has not had the development that we hoped and believed.

He's clearly not a Premier League footballer, I don't think he gets in the XI of any other Premier League side. He is now 157 appearances down now for Everton, and we still don't know what his position is.
Would love him to come good, but he's yet to establish himself, and when he's on, never really dominates.

Yeah I think there is a better player in there than we are seeing. I don't think he's been well served by the turnover of managers. At some point it's on him to stake a claim. He's had ample opportunity and hasn't.
