Yes because Frank is going into next season with just 3 midfielders. Amd all of them out of contract the following summer.

Being serious for a minute.
Delph will go, Gbamin on loan to a weak league I’d imagine just to get playing again. Gomes I think will go, he’s not up to the job and I think Frank will have seen enough at Newcastle.

Doucoure will get a new deal, Allan probably stays and see’s out his last year.
Davies may get a new deal, just because we won’t want to lose him for nothing. But Frank will definitely buy one midfielder, probably a number 6 who is great technically, I mentioned Gilmour from Chelsea. Only a year left on his Chelsea contract and had huge potential.

Worst case scenario he’s 4th choice, but if Frank thinks he needs another one, maybe he will play with a 3 in certain games. Then he could easily drop down to 5th choice.

He probably will stay, because of his injury we unlikely get a buyer next summer, but he will struggle to get games imo and will be gone soon enough
Gilmour has physical limitations. He is both slow and weak. Is he so good technically to overcome that. I am not sure

Well I will take your word fir that. As I’ve not seen loads of him, only going off things I’ve read

He is 5.7 so may need to work on his strength, one thing about being a technically gifted player, you don’t need to be built like Doucoure if you can take the ball in tight areas and find a team mate with a pass. He also, be it a small sample size is very good at pressing. And I’m not sure how slow he is, but playing in the number 6 role, I don’t think you need to be usain bolt, what do they say some players have 2 yards in their head. De Beek is hardly a man mountain

It’s a gamble, but he only young, Lampard has said positive things about him and with a year left on his deal, could be worth it.

I think lampard will want a number 6 and he is obviously going to be mentioned

Isn't that where Carlo got some good games out of him?

He had a few good game there, but again I think he’s technically not up to it. And would lose the ball because of a poor touch or bad decision. And would end giving away free kicks by our goal or giving goals away like, Burnley and Leicester.
And that Newcastle game at home when he came on to shut up shop when we were two nil up...

Davies is absolute garbage and needs punting ASAP. He wouldn't get a game for any other club in the prem. He's a local boy and that's it. Plus he seems to be getting better and better the longer he's injured...

Personally would love him to do well here and I still think there’s a player in there, even for just a good squad option which all teams need.

How many managers and temp managers has he played under? Unfortunately for him he has certainly come through at one of the most unstable periods in our history and he is almost a reflection of that.

If anyone deserves a chance to rebuild his career under a forward thinking, possession based, aggressive and attacking manager then that’s Tom.

Realistically it’s too late and the damage has been done, with a move at the end of his contract most likely.

Yes very true. And the shouts have already started, Lampard will be good for him
