Looking at the recent operation scar on the back of his thigh, I`d say it`s highly likely that he won`t be playing again this season mate.

Big op that and a lot of rehabilitation to go with it.

He`s been quoted in some of the sports pages this morning, saying he won`t play again this season.

Reading about the injuries, it sounds like he`s just played too much footy over the past few years and the niggles have turned into proper inuries.

No problem with Tommy D as a squad option. Low wages, solid enough and a grafter. He'll never be a world beater, but, he is a decent back up.

I personally don't think he'd be that much better than most physically fit under 25 year olds who go to the game. Lad's stealing a living, but fair play to him.

I'll tell you what mate, I played loads of football as youngster and as a 69 year old man I am still a member of a running club and can comfortably run 10k in less than an hour. So, I qualify on the fitness front, but, unlike Tommy D I didn't have the ability to play professional football I doubt if you did either and I know that most of the under 25's going to the match dont either.

Will he ever retire from being a footballer? I guess he'd still be on the payroll in forty years time with no one having the muchas to tell him he's not wanted anymore. He's too happy taking fashion snaps bless him
