I'm stil pretty shocked he gets the goodwill considering both his misses against Liverpool (home and away) this season.

In terms of football ability, there isn’t a single thing that he’s above average at. It boggles the mind that he’s stayed in the premier league this long. Cannot understand why he’s been given such a long leash.

….but buying a ‘first choice’ player means a current ‘first choice‘ player drops to the bench. Pretty basic really but that’s how you make your squad stronger. Extending the contracts of deadwood is exactly the wrong strategy to improve performance.

In 8 seasons Tommy has made 95 league starting appearances scoring 6 goals
That's 12 per season and an average of 0.75 goals
Does that deserve a new contract?
I think it tells us moreso that we won't be signing many either due to the fact that we are skint or will be prevented from doing so due to previous indiscretions

He's pretty poor generally. Yeah people will go on about how he "gets stuck in" etc but that's all he can do. He hasn't go much of a game beyond that. A total Championship player. Get get rid FFS!! There are no valid arguments to keeping him, so the fact he could be offered a new contact us bizarre. Get rid of Holgate too - looks lost most of the time
