He'll be in and out of the team after AFCON and rightly so. Yes he's been one of our best players lately but he's only 18 and expectations need to be managed. Too much exposure too fast could be detrimental in the long run.

I honestly don't see him dropping out at the minute. Not only is he doing the defensive side of the game but he is weighing in with vital assists. At the minute I see Davies and gana starting as they have the most credit in the bank and the shirts are theirs to lose.

Exactly this! He should get more than 15 minute cameos though, as he's proven he is able to influence games. I think he'll be chopping and changing with Schneiderlin in the team, which is amazing when you consider we've just shelled out 20-odd million for our new French midfielder!
It was a badly timed injury that stopped him from getting a loan (and perhaps stopped him getting game time too).

All it takes is for a couple of average to bad performances to set back the development and this is what Koeman has to try his best to judge on a day to day basis.
