Worked his socks off today. Made a bunch of clever runs...nearly got behind several times.

For those suggesting he's a DM you couldn't be more wrong.

Funnily enough I thought Tom had one of his quieter games today. But maybe that's because Barkley was outstanding and Morgan and Barry both had very good games and that's why he didn't 'stand out as much'.

Oh I don't think it was his best performance, but he never stopped working his tail off. It was an important thing to see for me. WBA tried to be physical with the boy and a lot of his clever running didn't work out because of good defending/not accurate enough passing.

Love that he just kept at it.

Davies looked to be struggling early imo. Getting kicked around and falling over a lot. To me, it looked like he was playing a more advanced position that I'd personally called for previously - not in this manner, however. Nevertheless, he grew into the game well and made several great runs into space as well as asserting himself against the opposition.

Koeman must love his attitude, pressing and of course ability he can bring to the side. There is definitely something special about this lad. I can see a under 21 call up forthcoming and Barkley getting back into the full international squad. Both highly merited IMO.

Just thinking it is fairly remarkable nowadays for an 18 year old to be playing in the Premier league. Rare as a striker but almost unheard of for a central midfielder.
