While Davies is an outstanding talent it's Liam Walsh were the real excitement is. Reports back from Yeovil being that training sessions were stopped on several occasions while the players clapped at some of the things Walsh was doing. It's only his STATUE which possibly goes against him - give it a year and this lad can play.

He must be good he's been immortalised already!

Needs a one-season loan at a smaller Premier League club to aid his professional development before he moves on to bigger and better things with Everton.

I'm thinking Southampton as a possible.
Yes loan him out to get kicked about and injured, Leon Osman was out on loan for two unnecessary years when he should have been playing centre midfield in our poor team!

The joke has passed you by a bit here mate

There's a joke section in the everything else fourum, as that passed you bylol
When I think back to youngsters we blooded in the old days particularly in the 1960s, - I fear we would have wasted them out on loan even when we were first named the Mersey millionaires we had at least 5 home grown players from our youth reserve teams which gained us trophies, look at Leicester they proved money cannot just buy you a Prem title!
It was just a well balanced team with a touch of class who bonded as a team!

Heard the same about John Paul Kissock. His statue was definitely against him though.

Or; If you're good enough you're big enough

Osman was hardly Hercules and at the other end of the scale, neither is Messi.

Wiki has him at 5ft 10in, he does look a bit slender but it's early doors yet...as we've seen with Ross too much bulking up is not good.

It's easy forget that Davies is still only 17, Walsh 18 and it was only last Oct/Nov ish when Walsh was scoring his wonder goal for the u18s and Davies was running to congratulate him. Their progress this season has been startling in different ways, if a quick poll had been taken when the loans were arranged Ledson would have polled over Walsh to grab headlines of midfielders on loan and Dowell over Davies to make an impact of those remaining. We don't see the things the coaches see every day and although Davies always looked a very good player and one of the better England players at u17/u18 level there was nothing that said you should hoik him out of the u21s and play him regularly at PL level. He looked completely at home in the about 100 mins of PL football he played, but thats a long way from making him a regular first teamer ....yet. He's still got much developing to do and it will be a difficult decision of whether he's kept at home in and around the 1st team or playing regularly out on loan at a good level. over to you Mr Koeman.

Is Walsh really 5'10 now? He was like 5'6 last time I checked. If true that's fantastic.

If you put the hours in the gym it's actually not that bad being short - it's just a different style. You develop as much upper body strength as possible and use your low centre of gravity to be a right bugger to knock off the ball.

There's no way Walsh is 5 ft 10. Looks about 5 7 to me. He is a fantastic talent but not sure he'll ever be 5 ft 10!
