The Clev is 27 and no one has seen fit to actually spent money on him ever.

He was never going to leave United unless the club decided to move him on, using his lack of transfer fees doesn't wash.

Played 22 league games when United won the title under Ferguson, then Moyes played him a shed load of times. Went to Villa and was a starter, then joined us and got regular game time, and now Koeman is using him.

All of these managers cannot be wrong, he is clearly of a good enough standard to be playing in the Premier League.

He's a steady Eddie and that's it, Davies has got the potential to be a better player, he won't realise that unless he gets a chance.

Yeah he probably is good enough to play in the Prem, Villa is about his level. Even they didn't want to pay a fee for him and decided to loan instead. He is not a top half Premier League player, not a chance.

Most managers wouldn't have Tom Cleverley near there squad, indicated by the fact no one has ever spent money on him in his career and he's 27

They would still play a seasoned pro over a youth prospect.

Im not saying I agree with it but its just what they do.

the likes of john o'shea and darren fletcher played 100s of games for fergie and utd, still wouldnt want them anywhere near everton.

Putting things into perspective , Tom is 18 and will undoubtedly get a lot better and stronger. Whatever we think about that crap performance last night , the responsibility for turning it around doesn't rest on his shoulders, that's the manager and the senior players , some of whom were an embarrassment.
Cleverly and Barry have the experience but lack the collective energy and pace between them to stop a decent team. And that's something that Tom Davies brings, energy and pace to the midfield to make up for his lack of experience at this level. We sadly missed the energy of Gueye , and on his return I'm not sure I'd link him and Davies together from the start, I'd prefer Davies to be alongside someone more experienced like Barry if he was to start. My biggest worry is that the likes of Cleverly or, shudder , Gibson get selected ahead of him.

This is where Koeman and his coaching team earn their money. Davies is an inexperienced but tremendous prospect, he needs to be supported and coached to be able to deliver sound performances at PL level, nothing fancy just good defensive midfield play he has shown in his youth career for us and England.
Barry suspended for next game mate

For his energy alone Davies should always be at least on the bench. The game at Bournemouth - another disgraceful Everton performance - was crying out for someone to inject energy and guts. But he wasn't even on the bench. An awful omission from Koeman. Instead the man he had to bring on to shake things up was......Cleverley.

Take the shackles off the kids and throw them in, we've got some goodn's there, unleash them, at least they'll be fearless.

Oh wait, 'you won't win anything with kids',

Should never have been brought on at that stage, anyone who has played football knows what its like to come on as sub, its hard to get into the game, let alone when you're getting battered.
Having said that, the kid showed great character

Barry suspended for next game mate
Yes I was aware of that mate, and it was a deliberate sentence that I would prefer the experienced Barry alongside him when he makes his next start as I feel he would look after him better than Gueye . Then I ballsed up my point with the Cleverly/Gibson reference of wanting Davies ahead of them , on balance Gueye /Davies would be better!
