I'm a fan of Davies and pretty happy with the way Koeman is handling him. First stop a reminder that's he's only 18. He's training with the first team regularly and as per RKs plan he's getting his game time with the U23s, which doesn't seem to faze him as Unsy always seems to mention him as one of the best players. This time last year he was playing u18 football.

At 18 he's not ready to boss the midfield regularly in the PL, and I don't believe many think he's the one to turn our season around. The frustration comes when the likes of Cleverly come on for the last 10 minutes ahead of him. His time will come though.

I think he's dodged a bullet so far though in not coming on in a game that we eventually lost. The myth that GOT will always get behind our young players and encourage them when they are played has been well and truly exposed this week. The amount of stick Dominic Calvert-Lewin has received in his own thread has been appalling for someone who only played 20 mins, even to the extent of that discussion being brought into this thread. I think if Davies does get game time soon and we lose the match I'll avoid this thread all together.

I dont think (many) people have slated DCL, more so that Koeman played him in a crazy position rather than up front.

Likewise with Davies i think everyone would get behind him alongside Gana.

Spot on mate. Everton fans love their young prospects. Until they lose and we devour them and throw the remains of their fledgling careers on a skip. Shame on us.

For example....? This is a part of our own mythology. We boo everyone, irrespective of whether they've come through the ranks.

Liam Walsh is twice the player, and further up the pecking order in my eyes. Walsh is running games in the U23's, while at times the games are passing Davies by.

Walsh probably has a higher ceiling on pure talent alone but Davies is closer to the first team right now. Bright prospects both, anyway. Would like to see Walsh on loan at a decent club.
