Tom Ince

I would expect there will be a Tom Ince rumour thread on pretty much every Premier League forum at the moment.

Nothing credible to suggest we're looking to sign him.

There was an Evertonian who posted on twitter that he talked to Tom Ince earlier this week and he mentioned he would be meeting with Everton officials today. He posted a picture of himself with Tom Ince as well. Doesn't mean we will sign him, but that's enough evidence to make me believe we are discussing the prospect.

And Martinez rates him (below), but still just rumour at this stage I reckon

“I like Tom. As a young, English talent he’s a phenomenal footballer,” the Everton boss added. “But it would be unfair of me to talk about him because he’s got a very important second half of the season with Blackpool and it would be unfair to bring speculation to him.

A young, English footballer of that calibre would interest a lot of teams, but it’s not for me to mention.”

Would you want Bobby to bring him in?

Just been reading through a lot of stories about ince, and actually my view on him seems to have come from his time way back at liverpool when he had a rep for sulking being selfish/greedy in the reserves etc and upon his initial arrival at blackpool, since then he appears to have gotten rid of that being an arse part of him, got a young family and settled down a bit like, so who knows he may actually have grown up a lot since those days, got the talent to improve us as pinnears replacement i think so if cheapish then probably a good deal

Is he better than Zaha ?
Zaha could form a part of any Baines deal, along with Valencia.

Don't overly rate zaha, and Valencia??? Have you been watching utd this season???
Rather keep baines thank you very much!!

As for Ince, very tricky one. Blackpool being my local team seen a fair bit of him. He's essential to anything Blackpool have done, looks very good for them and been very consistant. His time at Liverpool has made him put first team football first. I wouldn't question his attitude tbh.

What i'd really question is whether he's one of those who've found there level in the championship, but would struggle at PL level. Honestly don't know the answer tbh. Think the price we could get him for tho would be low enough that if it didn't work out we wouldn't lose money on him selling on.

Down to you bobby!!

Thats a fair point. I knew i grew up when i was that age so there is no reason a footballer cant

I would love ince to sign...brings real pace and ability. Like RM trying too get a young core too the side

Watched a few interviews of the lad this morning mate and he actually comes across as pretty grounded and a decent lid, good shout on the growing up at that age, i know i did myself around the early 20's like a lot

So will hold my hands up and say i've changed opinion on this one and would actually like to see us sign him now, young, English, technically talented, and knows where the goal is and has good pace, plus a little bit of aggression and arrogance still to his game, all around sounds very much a bobby signing

It all depends on his potential I believe as this could be a deal breaker.

If he has the potential to hit the heights of Ashley Young for example then he will be a very good signing. Remember at one point Young was rated one of the best in the country. If he is a scott sinclair type, good but not great then the fuss could be over nothing and if we don't get him then oh well.

From everything said last year, it led me to believe Zaha is a much better prospect than Ince anyway, hence the 12 million bid for him. Surely if Zaha went anywhere else other than under Moyes he would be playing regulary?

Maybe there is truth in the ms Moyes story?

Zaha will turn out to be a top player. Certainly better than Ince, but that's not to say Ince won't be a success as well. Ideally if Utd come in for Baines i'd insist on Zaha being part of any deal but i'd still be happy with Ince.

Ince turned down cardiff when they bid 8m for him last year though mate, so the difference in fees isnt that massive if he'd have chosen to go then

All depends though mate, atm zaha is stagnating not playing whilst ince is learning the game more and more, another year like that could flip the situation around

If I remember rightly Martin O'Neill claimed Young could be as good as Messi when he signed him from Watford haha. I've always thought he's a diving little ****bag myself. Yep something definitely iffy about Moyes not playing Zaha when you consider how utterly ****e they look and he's pinning all his hopes on that Belgian kid who looks decent but certainly not a world beater like you would imagine the way he goes on about him.

i'm guessing a couple of our lads would know him re england youth etc,so they might have an idea of his character, but you'd think Seamus would still have friends from his time at Blackpool,so you'd think that side of the fella has been sussed out.
It's all rumour at the end of the day but i'd quite like to see him in our midfield playing in the kind of form he's shown for Blackpool, exciting times.
