Tony Hibbert

I'm not sure if he's injured

I sit in MS3 and Hibbert has spent basically every game this season watching from the media area and taking notes. This makes me think he's swotting up to become a coach. I personally think that would be a great role for him

I always like the utter twerps getting their knickers in a twist because he's still on the pay roll. The man played for years for us and always gave his all, isn't on comparatively much money to other players in the squad and is clearly a good influence on the younger players coming through. If he does indeed turn out to be a coach, we could probably get years more service from him in that role. If he turns out to be a great coach for us then it makes complete sense to have kept him on the payroll for a couple of years while he winds down his playing career into a coaching one

Pure jealousy

He's a lifelong Blue who lived his dream and played for Everton, all while having the temerity of being just decent while doing so

Rather than live vicariously through Hibbert, as quite a lot of us do, a very unpleasant and nasty part of our fan base decide to get the knives out because they're unhappy with their own lot in life.

I love Tony Hibbert for the simple fact that he proves that if you work hard enough and dedicate yourself to a dream, you can go all the way to achieve it. Tony Hibbert is the fan on the field, and I'm proud of Everton as a club if they're trying to keep him on board and developing him in other areas. It's how it should be.

We as supporters demand loyalty from players, but we're not so good at showing it ourselves sometimes

I remember when he first came through. Thought he would become Englands right back quite easily.

He looked fantastic defensively and i thought that if hes able to get up the pitch and deliver a cross then weve got a star here...sadly he could defend 1-1 with the best of them but anything else was a struggle (though for a time he was able to cross and get up the pitch before injuries struck).

If we had Hibbert at right back now we would look far better defensively. Hopefully he joins the coaching setup (or scouting) and teaches the players how to put in a hard but fair tackle.

Hibbert was one of the worst defenders we've ever had.

He used to stand far off the winger allowing him to get a centre in, anything, rather than
being beaten on the outside. He had the sliding tackle, some doggedness and nothing else.
A good full back who was around at the time was Cashley Cole who would get close to the winger
and allow him no room. Compare and contrast. One of the reasons why EFC has won nothing in a decade is Hibbert.

He would never have got a look-in at any other club. And alongside Neville, one of DM's biggest mistakes.

This is the sort ridiculous attitude that has become common amongst evertonians - I'm proud because we do this or that which has no impact on what matters: [Poor language removed] WINNING!!
We have to be ruthless and clear out when players/ staff (Howard/Martinez) no longer offer what they are paid for. I'm sick of this great community club attitude it wins you [Poor language removed] all on the pitch. The good guy never [Poor language removed] the prom queen as they say!
